How to delete indexes in BIA(BI Accelerator) without rebuilding
As far as I know, when I delete data(request) in an InfoCube, the data on the BI accelerator is not physically deleted, but left as kinda garbage Data(which takes up space on the BI accelerator server).
So I regularly rebuild the BI accelerator index every weekend for the data consistency of the InfoCube and BI Accelerator.
But the thing is that I handle the very huge and important data, so when I make a mistake on the process of rebuilding, it is very critical.
So I just wonder if there is some ways to delete data(Indexes) on the BI accelerator physically, when I delete the same data(request) in an InfoCube. (I want to reduce the number of rebuilding)
Or I would appreciate it if anyone lets me know good alternatives not to rebuild every weekend.

RFC connectivity
Hi All,
We have a BW system with two application servers connected to a BWA system. Recently, we have replaced one of the BW applications servers with a new server. This replacement was done in such a way that the ip address of the new application server remained same whereas the hostname was changed to a different hostname.
So, we have updated the new hostname in the hosts file of all the blades of the BWA system and the new server server is pingable from all the blades of the BWA server.
Now the issue is, in the Trex standalone tool, under the connectivity tab when we check the rfc connectivity it shows the connectivity for the old BW application server along with the other 2 servers. However, the old application server is already removed and decommissioned.
I removed the RFC connection and recreated the connection, restarted the BWA system, but still the old server entry still persists. Not sure from where the entry is getting populated.
When the BW team is trying to create indexes they are getting an RFC communication failure error.
Could someone help on this?

DTP Error Message
Hi ,
When i am trying to activate or creating new DTP getting following error message :
"MESSAGE_TYPE_X"
"SAPLRSSTATMAN" bzw. LRSSTATMANF03
"FILL_DETAILS_200"
If you cannot solve the problem yourself, please send the following
information to SAP:
i tried to reactivate transformation using program :RSDG_TRFN_ACTIVATE
i tried to activate DTP using program:RSBKDTPREPAIR
but still not succeeded. Does any one have any idea what is causing this issue? Thanks in advance
our system SAP BW 7.4 SP 6.

Data load from HR to BW
Hi ,
I am trying to do data loads from HR system (Time Management extractors 0HR_PT_1,2,3) to BW production systems, but i am in confusion whether do i need to take down time for the data loads or not required. Does any one have experience on this? Thanks in advance

Data inconsistency ;Partition /BIC/B0001021000 not deleted
Hi,
when i am trying to delete PSA requests manually/process chain getting error. my database is SQL.
I have tried RSRV,
RSAR_PSA_CLEANUP_DIRECTORY_MS,
RSAR_PSA_PARTITION_CHECK,
SAP_PSA_PARTNO_CORRECT
but no use.
Could you please let me know if you have any solution for this? Thank in advance.

SAP RFC REMOTE LOGON PROBLEM IN SAP BI TO SAP ECC

I had Done System copy from SAP BW (DW1) is 192.168.0.101 our ECC is QA1 192.168.0.100 , I am able to Remote Login from QA1 to DW1(BW), But It is not Possible to Remote Login from DW1 to QA1, I had checked the Authorization test it'sOK
Can any one Give solution for the Problem

Sizing for BI Accelerator now in SAP QuickSizer
Hello everyone,
the sizing is now available in the QuickSizer. http://service.sap.com/quicksizer> Create Project and select SAP NetWeaver BI. Click on the "Help" link on the top right-hand side of the screen to get more information on how to fill out the sizing for BI+BIA.
Most of the data is the same as for sizing BI. If you have done a BI sizing already you can copy and paste the values into a BI+BIA sizing. Please note that you have to create a new QuickSizer project. Otherwise the BIA options will not appear.
If you already have a BI system (loaded with data), then the program and method described in SAP note <a href="http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/917803">917803</a> is recommended. It will take a while to run, but it is definitely more accurate than a QuickSizing.

BWA Requirement for MSSQL 2012
Hello Friends,
We are planning to migrate our platform combination to Microsoft 2012 & SQL 2012 database. Currently we are heavily dependent on BWA and we are using 7.20 Release 29 with Oracle database on BW system.
I would like to understand based on your experience what will happen to our BWA environment after ORACLE --> SQL migration.
is all connectivity methods would still be supported?
how does the roll ups work (functionally)?
does MS-2012 db has any issues working out with BWA?
how MS-SQL 2012 column store would play in this situation?
Any timely information would help us estimating the efforts and approach.

BWA reorg
I am planning to do reorg on all BWA indexes. Are there any best practices to be followed around this. We will ensure no loads happen when reorg runs. Other than this, can anyone share their experiences and any reference SAP standard KBA's. I did search with all possible terms however could not find anything relevant to this extent. Appreciate your thoughts.

BWA Index rebuild after upgrade to BW 7.40?
Hi All,
When upgrading from BW 7.0 to 7.3 its good practice to rebuild BWA indexes after upgrade.
What is recommended practice when upgrading from BW 7.3 to BW 7.4? Do we need to rebuild BWA indexes after upgrade? (recommended/mandatory)
I can’t find any specific note or recommendation about this :-/ . BWA is 7.20.

DSO on BWA
How are you guys implementing DSO on BWA? I know DSO cannot go in as it is in BWA. It has to be modeled into a cube (either standard or cube part of hybrid-provider or a BWA only infoc-cube). Just curious to know how the industry uses it. Thanks.

Basics of BWA and connectivity with TREX
Hello Experts,
We are on SAP BI NetWeaver 7.3 with SAPKB73008 , SAPKW73008 and I am from BASIS team with limited BWA knowledge
We are having a total of 6 BW application servers installed on Linux and 7 blades of BWA which are installed on different servers (Not on the same SAP installed servers).
i had reviewed many SAP Notes and blogs, my bad - i couldnt get BASICS of connectivity with "SAP BI system --> TREX and BWA"
1. Can anyone please help me explain the integrity between the above three products? and suggestions for below:
2 We are using TREX with BWA version - 7.20.25.00. Hope it is BWA 7.2 with Does that mean 7.20 version with Revision 25
Please correct me if i am wrong
3. When i do Connection availability from RSDDBIAMON2, below is the result
BW Accelerator services are fully available - GREEN, however below are in Yelolow status
At least one of the checks (type Summary) is not recognized
At least one of the checks (type Current Results) is not recognized
At least one of the checks (type History) is not recognized
At least one of the actions (type History) is not recognized
For the above Warnings i referred Notes and they suggest when we upgrade the system, there are still some messages missing and suggested to implement to a SP level.
However, we are almost with the lastest level and way ahead thanthe suggested version.
4. System Check - Warning: All 6 AppServers(<PRD SID> are not connected directly
I did not get any clue about these warnings nor basics of connectivity between TREX, BWA and BI systrem, appreciate your response
