6952 error in BWA Server

$

Hi All,

When we run the run the report in Bex Analyzer and drill down  the report at granular level that is at Material get the error mentioned below:

Error reading the data of Infoprovider Z..

Amount of data being to be read from BIA server is too large

The following error 6952 occured in BIA server.

Error executing Physical plan: Attr engine not enough memory.

We are currently We are currently on BIA 7.00 Revision pack 54.

I have gone through the SAP note 1018798 and 1002839, and I am aware that whenever the number of crosses the limit of max_cells_one_index.

We modified the max_cells_one_index setting from default 40 million to 50 Million last year January. We are aware that the TrexRfcServer, the

RFC connection or the application server can stop working if the result set does not fit into the memory of the service. Business is nervous about increasing the limit as it might result to Outages.  We are getting this error as the resultant is exceeding 53 million cells.

1)What is the percentage of risk of an outage associated with the setting change from 50 Million to 60 million. I am aware that it not

easy to substantiate the risk, I would like to know whether it is low, medium or high risk. I Know that we can increase to higher limits but

that would involve huge amount of risk. Is 40 or 50 Million cell data transfer using RFC the limitation of the BIA tool. In our company we

are using complex queries and reporting huge number of KF’s and theparticular report which business is trying to refresh is feeding data to all the business models. So changing the report wouldn’t be anviable option for the business. How are other companies using BIA

handling data transfer more than 50 Million.

Is it fair to say that the 50 Mil cells is the limitation of the BIA tool as it not able to handle large amount of data.,gone through the

note 1018798, as you are aware that we being from IT expected to give solutions. What Solutions SAP suggesting to clients who are handling

huge amount of data.

3) )Can any one  please elaborate whether the planned changes mentioned below will have any impact on the amount of data being transferred through

RFC in BIA. Will this help reducing the 6952 error to certain extent.

a)Turning on the FEMS compression.

b)Using dynamic max_cells_one_index. We are currently at revision 54,

do you reckon upgrading to service patch level 63 will help resolve the

issue current 6952 error.

c)Can increasing the memory that is adding another blade, will that

help sorting out the 6952 error.

d)To increase the package chunk size read to the recommended value of

2000000.

e)Using ICM instead of RFC as communication method for query execution.

Shall we change the communication method to ICM instead of RFC.

Is the Max Cell one index setting limitation for the BIA tools for companies handling large amount of data and complex queries

Please let me know your thoughts on this. I have gone through many SAP notes in BWA, any other solution would be much appreciated

Thanks

Krish.

How to Turn off BIA settings in test system?

HI Friends,

Our quality system is recently refreshed with production environment. We have BIA enabled in Production but we dont have the BIA server in Quality system. Now since the system is copied from Production environment. the system looks for the indexes while running the query in quality system. Since there is no BIA server in quality, the reports runs for a long time and gets timeout after some time.

I want to turn off the BIA server settings in Quality system and is looking out for the setting required for it. Could you please let me know how can we do this??

In RSRV we get an RFC issue which points to the Production BIA server. RSDDBIAMON gives the similar issue. I want to turn off the BIA setting in Quality system.

BIA Rev. 7.00.53.00, DBMAN 305, RSD_TREX 100, unloading temp indexes...

$

Hi BIA team,

we have several questions regarding some error situations which we get when we execute many parallel queries against the BIA.

On BI side we get this 2 errors:

DBMAN 305 Error reading the data of InfoProvider YREP_BC_1$X YREP_BC_1$X

RSD_TREX 100 Error executing physical plan: general error (no f 2999

On BIA side in the TrexRFCServerAlert trace at the same time we found this type of errors:

1. TREXRfcSvr   trexAggregate.cpp(01016) : TREX_RFC_AGGREGATE_SP5 rc: 2999 (Error executing physical plan: general error (no further information available);BwPopBuildIndexUnion pop29(setAliasIndex('pcs_yrep_bc_1-union_of_pcs_bi0_0805006369_pcs_bi0_0805006377en'),addIndexForUnion('pcs_bi0:0805006369en'),addIndexForUnion('pcs_bi0:0805006377en')),in executor::Executor in cube: pcs_yrep_bc_1).

2. TREXRfcSvr   trexAggregate.cpp(01016) : TREX_RFC_AGGREGATE_SP5 rc: 2007 (Error creating physical plan: Index does not exist;index=pcs_bi0:0805095572 in cube: pcs_yrep_bc_1).

We have observed that this types of errors are present if the BIA has the overloaded warning and unloading temp. indexes...

Now the Questions:

1. Why is BIA unloading indexes which are needed for the current query execution, why not deleting only old ones ?

2. After 10000 query executions we have about 22000 temp indexes and in the Reorg tab there is a warning "Standard Deviation of Join/OLAP Indexes 10147 MB, 1625 MB, 84 %, reorg yes", should we schedule a daily job for the cleanup ?

5. What exactly does "Standard Deviation of Join/OLAP Indexes" in BIA world mean ?

3. Were are the temp indexes stored, Shared Memory ?

4. Currently we have phys. 284 GB Ram and 95 MB shared memory assigned, what would be the ideal value for Shared Memory ?

Thanks a lot in advance!

What is the diffrence between delete/create index from cube step present in process chain and delete/create BIA index of cube?

Switching on/off cubes from BIA

Hi Experts,

I have a requirement to create a program that will switch off/on all cubes from BIA.  Currently, the cubes have to be switched off individually through rsddbiamon2.

Can you help me as to how to proceed and which tables I should check.

Iam assuming that there will be a table with the BIA flag on/off and I have to change that flag using ABAP code.

Can anyone tell me this table and field if this method is correct?

Hello,

i am having some issues when trying to open a query. I get this message in BEx

Error Error executing physical plan: Index does not exis 2007

Error Error executing physical plan: Index does not exist;in executor:: Executor

Error The following error 2,007 occured in BIA server

This is my first time encounter with BIA. With the help of SDN, I was able to undertsnad some basic stuff and got into tcode RSDDBIAMON2

In the summary Tab I have a red "BIA server is overloaded" in details for it I have "Number of Times Main Memory Was Unloaded in Last 24 Hours: '767204'" The second line in summary with red says "Check for indexes loaded from the memory" - Action " Reduce number of indexes", In details it shows me 7 hosts and the number of index attribute unloads per hour  are about a 100 for each.

On the History Tab (todays date), I have, Check for indexes loaded from the memory , Upon Diagnosis the message read " The check examines the memory usage in the SAP NetWeaver BI Accelerator. The check receives status red if it determines that indexes were deleted from the memory because it is almost completely full.".

In the TREX Admin tool > Usage Tab> When i put the indexes, and hit the "glasses" , i get " Index does not exist;index=_trex:indexusage ( Retu Check if Index Usage Collector is switched on"Other than that I dont know or have any access to the Python tool or the stand alone TREX. If more details is needed I am more than happy to give. Please help me out with this issue.

Hi All,

Please let me know how indexes for F4 input help on a master data info object can be created.

The status of F4 input help for a master data info object is fine (in green) but one of its attributes has the F4 status as red. Because of this we are not able to drill down on this attribute in the report.

We have tried creating BIA on the master data info object but to no avail.

Could you please help us how to resolve this issue?

BIA Concurrent Requests

$

Hi,

We are having performance issues in our production BIA  environment. Our BIA system (7.2 revision 11) is running on 11 blades. In the BW system, SM66 all work process are busy with waiting status with many TREX requests. So, we are thinking increasing concurrent requests will help. Could some one please advise?

At present our BIA system showing no.of concurrent requests:7

no.of TREX Rfc threads : 462

no.of work processes(192 DIA, 31 BGB) : 223

Application Servers:6

No.of BIA blades: 11

Based on above info, can some one please suggest, no.of concurrent requests that we need to increase?

I have another question, we recently increased RSADMIN parameter QUERY_MAX_WP_DIAG value to 11 in our BW system. So, if we increase QUERY_MAX_WP_DIAG to 11 in BW, do we need to increase concurrent requests value in BIA?

Thanks in advance

Regards

Sri.

DFI - BW Setting is not transferred to BIA

$

Hi,

In RSDDBIAMON  -> BI Accelerator -> Index Settings -> BIA Index properites, there is an option to switch on/off DFI.

we tried using this screen but it doesnt work. Table RSDDTREXDIR has a field PRELOAD (BIA Index Properties). This stores the properties set in the screen above.

But this property is never transferred over to BIA.

when I look at in TREX Python tool , under USAGE -> DimFn Index , DFI is sitll switched off.

Is this a bug or am I missing something?

Also, DFI related OSS Notes are now pulled out. (1133742 and 1074559).

Kindly advise,

Thanks,

In the rfc alert trace there is no relevant error at this time. This error is independent from the blades because i moved the affected index to another blade. The result was the same.

I only can see an error in the IndexServerAlert trace:

I don´t know why I get here an ICM error, the BIA is so configured that it just uses the RFC connection to the backend system. There is also no error in the ICM traces in SMICM.

I only found a note(1092151) but this note doesn´t match to us because we already have SP15 in the backend system.

Thanks in advance!

BIA_USED and BIA_NOTPOSSIBLE relationship

$

Hello together,

today I have a question related to the BWA usage for my infoprovider. I've read the possible reasons for entries in BIA_NOTPOSSIBLE row of the table from note 1159260. Nevertheless I am wondering about our quota of BIA_USED and BIA_NOTPOSSIBLE reads.

I want to have a look on our plan cubes (realtime infoprovider). I know that the yellow request causes a BIA_NOTPOSSIBLE read. But can this lead into a 50%:50% relationship like in the following screenshot?

Greenshot_2015-10-26_11-14-43.jpg

Can you tell me if you have the same relationship in your plancubes used in BWA? Please post your relationships as answer.

Initiate and Fill BIA Index Step Fails in Process Chain

HI!

In our weekend scenario for a cube, we refresh the data in a cube. What we do is, we delete BIA indexes before the data refresh in the cube, load the data, recreate the indexes using "Initialize and Fill BIA" step.

Last run the filling process failed and in the log it showed this message:

Lock for table 'table name'. Job will be restarted again later

We have it for many tables and at the end of the log:

FILLING_FAILED  >CHECK LOG!!!!!

Please any advice in this?

Thanks,
